The municipality committee has identified the following advantages of incorporating the "City of Lake Poinsett".  There are probably many others.  As you read through the "City of Lake Poinsett" web site, the newsletter, or as you attend group meetings, or as you talk with friends, you may think of others.  We hope you will share your ideas with us so that we may pass them on to others, and where possible, incorporate them into the municipality, for the betterment of all.

• Consolidating services


• Coordinating control of services under one agency.


• Having a voice in the affairs of the Lake Municipality.


• Receiving a fair return for residents' tax dollars.


• Enhancing the ability to receive support dollars from funding agencies to continue the development of a beltway sewer system to insure the long term health of its residents, the Lake and its users.


• Improving fire protection, minimizing losses and reducing premiums


• Developing a program of shoreline erosion control.


• Improving and maintaining the road system and street lighting.


• Providing long-term, organized, environmentally safe development.


• Opening opportunities for external funding not now available.


• Opening opportunities for sources of revenue not now available.


• Contact with political leaders, keeping them informed of our needs.
