Two years ago, at the annual spring meeting of the Lake Poinsett Area Development Association, the subject of incorporating a municipality for the area was introduced.  In a subsequent meeting, the Board of Directors gave Jerry Myers the charge of studying the feasibility of incorporating.  After about 16 months, he reported his findings to the Board, who suggested a municipality committee be formed to carry the proposal to completion.
    The committee consisted of Jerry Myers, chair, Roger French, Robby Pedersen, Mike Klein,  and Gary Lee. 
    Following several months of fact finding, the chairman presented the report to the November LPADA meeting.  The Board voted unanimously to charge the municipality committee to pursue the necessary steps to submit the final application to the County Commissioners.
