REVENUE
1.  Property Tax
A property tax mill levy is determined by a proposed and submitted budget and the assessed valuation of the property within the municipality.  There are certain taxes that won't change, including tax paid to the school district and the county.  Others changes or deletions will be determined as the new municipality leadership takes effect.  An ongoing property tax should be levied to assure a dependable source of funding to meet the proposed budget.  If none is in place, it will not be possible to implement one in the future.  Therefore a property tax is suggested.  If implemented, it would be the smallest of any community in the counties in which the lake is a part.  It could allow for some of the improvements we now need, but are not able to achieve because of the lack of a suitable tax base.  Please watch this section of the web site for updates as new information becomes available and new ideas are applied.

Cooperation with and coordination of efforts of the various agencies now having jurisdiction of some aspect of lake management will be imperative and will lead to more efficient development of a healthy municipality.

2.  With Politicians
Working with politicians at all levels and with lobbying agents for municipalities will assure that more attention will be paid to our concerns.  Our technological infratructure will allow us to keep up to the minute with the political activities at the state and national levels.  Our municipality web site will allow us to hyperlink to the various agencies which might benefit us in our vision of a model city.
