Whether it's winter, spring, summer, or fall . . . you can have a lot of fun here in Lake Benton. Take a look at what we have to offer for outdoor recreation. And if you are a horse fancier or history buff, make plans to stop by for our annual "Saddle Horse Holiday."
Saddle Horse Days

"Horseplay" is on the agenda every summer in Lake Benton, with our annual Saddle Horse Holiday. 2008 markes the 62th year running for this exciting event. Join us on horseback as we celebrate Lake Benton being the "Gateway to the West."

Each year the "mane" attraction is a mile-long parade of 800 riders. A show competition is held, as well, featuring pleasure, hunt, hitch, bridle path, and equitation classes. Games on horseback (from musical chairs to barrel races) are scheduled. And you can ride your horse through more than 200 wooded acres!

This year's celebration will be held June 13, 14, 15.

There is a small entry fee for participants. Spectators are charged only $1.50. Horse campgrounds can be found in the area.

If you would like further details, either contact us or send a self-addressed envelope to: Jean Carr, P.O. Box 303, Lake Benton, Minn. 56149.
