Lincoln County, MN

Lincoln County, Minnesota is home to over 600 wind turbines, learn about the unique and interesting communities that make up this wonderful county. Each community is a unique ethnic background. Tyler was settled by the Danish, Ivanhoe was settled by the Polish, Hendricks was settled by the Norwegien and Lake Benton by the German and English decendents.

Travel Southwest Minnesota

Hendricks

Just 30 miles to the northwest of us, this Norwegian-heritage community waits to welcome you with their annual Syttende Mai ethnic festival, one of the Midwest's largest outdoor shows of antique tractors, the Lincoln County Historical Museum, lake recreation, and more.

Tyler

Only nine miles to our east, Tyler celebrates their Danish heritage with Aebelskiver Days. Tyler also hosts the Lincoln County Fair every summer, and promotes ethnic pride each year with their Danebod Folk Gathering.

Ivanhoe

Only 14 miles to our north, Ivanhoe celebrates their Polishheritage with Polska Keilbaska Days. Ivanhoe also hosts the Lincoln County Seat see the unique and beautiful architecture of the county courthouse.

Pipestone

Eighteen miles to the south, the city of Pipestone stands at the center of Native American history in our region. Site of the rare pipestone rock (sacred in Native American tradition), the community is home to the Pipestone National Monument and the annual "Song of Hiawatha Pageant," based on Longfellow's epic poem.

Lake Shaokatan

Just north of Lake Benton is Lake Shaokatan, located in Lincoln County it is home to the Picnic Point County Park.

Walnut Grove

About 45 miles to the east of us, Walnut Grove is the childhood home of Laura Ingall's Wilder, author of the "Little House" books. The annual Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant celebrates her life and the prairie history of our region.
