Our Historic Opera House

Welcome to the Lake Benton Opera House, one of the premiere historic buildings in southwest Minnesota. Home to an active community theatre, the Opera House has begun its second century in our community. Built in 1896, walk through the history of theatre in Lake Benton, a personal guide can give an insight of the history and unique qualities that placed the theatre on the National Registry of Historic Buildings. Please allow at minimum one hour for tour.
Cost is $2.00/person.



Lundberg Log Home

LLH Rock Fireplace (27K)
Visit the beautiful log home of Kendall and Treava Lundberg. Treava is a performing musician and vocalist and has performed to capacity crowds all over the Midwest. The home was built 1982-1985 and is made of 244 logs. Enjoy a special performance from this inspirational musician. Please allow a minimum of hour.

Heritage Center Building (23K)

Learn about the unique history of Lake Benton and the benefits of wind power technology in one place. Interactive computers help to educate about the turbines. Walk up under a turbines to hear a gentle swooshing of the blades. Tour Cost is $2.00/person. Please allow at minimum one hour for tour. Open 10am-5pm Monday ~ Friday to the public good will donation
Open on Saturday's and Sunday's by special appointment only. Special Hours for large groups.

1896 Historic Osbeck House

The historic Osbeck house was built in 1896 by Ernest Osbeck and restored by Alvina and Jack Burk in 1976. The entire house was transformed from a near ruined pile old lumber to a beautiful example of the Queen Anne Style popular in the 1890's. Wall coverings throughout the home are reproductions from famous persons, places or movies. Light fixtures are historic from Jack's travels throughout the world. Hear of the history and see the amazing collection of glass antiques throughout this home. Please allow a minimum of 45 minutes.

Andersen Honey Farm

See the miracle of nature, bees making honey right before your eyes. A unique experience for the young and young at heart. Take a walk through a 100 year old home where the honey is bottled. There is the ability to purchase honey on spot. Please allow a minimum of 45 minutes.
