Essential Information

WHERE:
The workshop will be held in Milbank S. Dak, located about 180 miles west of Minneapolis. Milbank is just 12 miles west of Ortonville MN on US Hwy #12, and in the center of some of the very best prairie habitat in the central US. The thousands of prairie potholes, woodlots, and grasslands that dot the region play host to over 16 species of sparrows. We find both migrants and resident birds in huge numbers here during fall migration, not to mention raptor migration and late season shorebirds.

REGISTRATION & FEES:
$140 plus a $25 non-refundable registration fee includes the entire weekend workshop. The noon lunch on Saturday is included in the price. It does not include lodging, or other expenses. If you are forced to cancel, the registration fee can be applied to future workshops. Checks should be sent to: Doug Buri; 902 S. 7th St., Milbank, SD 57252. A spot at the workshop will be reserved for you and an e-mail confirmation sent when we receive the registration fee; with the remaining $140 payable when you arrive for the workshop.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Experienced birders, professional resource managers, and beginning sparrow fans will all gain a great deal of information and increase their identification skills with this workshop. With a limit of only 20 people split into 2 groups of 10 per guide at the workshop, we will be able to focus on the individual level of expertise and interests of each person attending. If sparrow identification has been a frustration and a problem for you in the past, attend this workshop. You will be amazed at how much easier and fun it is to go out on your own. If LeConte's Sparrow is a target species for you, this will be the workshop you want. We have seen this species many times on EVERY workshop in past years.
