Essential Information
WHERE: The workshop will be held in Milbank S. Dak, located about 180 miles west of Minneapolis. Milbank is just 12 miles west of Ortonville MN on US Hwy #12, and in the center of some of the very best shore birding habitat in the central US. The thousands of prairie potholes that dot the region play host to over 30 species and tens of thousands of individual shorebirds during fall migration.
REGISTRATION & FEES: $140 plus a $25 non-refundable registration fee includes the entire weekend workshop. The fee includes noon lunch on Saturday. It does not include lodging, or other expenses. If you are forced to cancel, the registration fee can be applied to future workshops. Checks should be sent to: Doug Buri; 902 S. 7th St., Milbank, SD 57252. A spot at the workshop will be reserved for you and an e-mail confirmation sent when we receive the registration fee; with the remaining $140 payable when you arrive for the workshop.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Experienced birders, professional resource managers, and beginning shorebird fans will all gain a great deal of information and increase their identification skills with this workshop. With a limit of only 20 people in the workshop (10 people maximum per guide), we will be able to focus on the individual level of expertise and interests of each person attending. If shorebird identification has been a frustration and a problem for you in the past, attend this workshop. You will be amazed at how much easier and fun it is to go out "shore birding" on your own.
