Pray for our brothers and sisters who are or have been ill: Ralph Top, Leola Wenzlick, Jeri’s sister Jo, Shelly Walder. Pray for those who grieve, especially for Peggy Petersen and family at the death of Peggy’s grandmother, Margaret Wonsbeck, for Geri Gantvoort & other family members at the death of her brother-in-law, Robert Greenfield, for Lynn and Kristy Borer & family at the death of Lynn’s mother, and for Delma Rasmussen at the death of her sister. Pray for those who are victims of domestic violence.

Come to the annual meeting right after worship. Learn about the ministry of our church. Be part of making decisions about our missions local & beyond, council member elections, worship time, residing of parsonage, study group :the ELCA study - ordination of Gays & Blessings of Same-Sex Relationships, 2004 congregational theme.

Offerings received last Sunday totaled $1,355.62 in the General Fund and $316.00 in the Building Fund , $10.00 in the Mission Fund.

Please, sign up now on the narthex clipboard to serve fellowship, read lessons, or assist with Holy Communion in 2004.

Pass the word. Our worship service is television again! See it on ITC Cable TV in Castlewood on Channel 1 on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Tell your neighbors about the service on TV.

The Fellowship Offering for the next several Sundays will go to help us provide the meal at the Watertown Banquet which will be served by the Confirmation class on February 16th at Grace Lutheran Church.

Could you spare a dollar? The confirmation class will participate in the nationwide Souper Bowl offering February 1. They will collect your offering of $1 and/or non/perishable food & take it to an area food pantry.

Calling all Youth! Do you like music? Do you like to have fun? Then come out for a Christian concert at ALC in Castlewood. Captive Free, sponsored by Minneapolis-based Youth Encounter, presents a concert of contemporary Christian music, personal testimony, puppetry and drama involving this year’s theme "New Creation". Grab a friend and join in the fun on Wednesday, February 4th at 7:30p.m. We need host homes to house 1 to 3 people and to provide a breakfast and lunch to go. The team has 3 women and 3 men. Contact Pastor John.

Committee meetings won’t work on Feb. 4th, so lets meet Wednesday, January 28th at 7:15. All committees: Meet at that time, Council members and all other persons interested and willing to be involved in Outreach, church Properties, Christian Education, Youth, Worship and/or Family Life. We’ll meet as a group first, then break up into respective committees. Please be prompt.

A series of informational sessions on homosexuality and the Evangelical Lutheran church in America will be offered at the University Lutheran Center on Sunday evenings in January from 7:00-8:30 p.m. the University Lutheran Center is located at 14th Ave. & 8th St. – 2 blocks north of 6th St. Florist. These sessions are sponsored by the University Lutheran Center and Ascension Lutheran Church, Brookings. The topics yet to be covered: Jan. 18 – Biological & Psychological Perspectives by Dr. Nels Granholm., SDSU and Dr. Al Branum., SDSU, Jan. 25 – A Personal Perspective: What it means to be homosexual and Lutheran (presenter to be named later). Everyone is invited to attend any and/or all of the sessions.
